Doors Open Day 2008 was a great success. Despite the afternoon rain, there were huge numbers of people desperate to see behind the doors of some of Renfrewshire’s fantastic buildings.
This year you could take a tour of the Council Chambers, see the cells in the Sherriff Courts and sit on judgement in the Principal Court, see where Robert Tannahill lived worked and composed his songs and poems, and see some of Paisley’s finest Churches designed by it’s top architects.
Paisley Online this year managed to visit Inchinnan Parish Church, All Hallows Church Ruins, The Arts Centre, Renfrewshire House, St Mirin’s Cathedral, Anchor Finishing Mill, The Town Hall and The Abbeyas well as getting a glimpse of the Bascule Bridge being raised and lowered.
